- The Future of Toys -

In this case study, we will explore how foresight techniques, such as scenario planning and 2x2 matrices, can help analyze the future of toys in 2040. By examining key drivers like digitization, sustainability, and consumption behaviors, we’ve developed four distinct scenarios: Merch Mania (nostalgia-driven overconsumption), Connected Collectibles(hyper-personalized digital play), Crafted Play (sustainable, low-tech innovations), and Grow with Me (lifelong AI companions). Through this lens, we’ll uncover how toys could evolve to address societal needs, foster creativity, and inspire meaningful connections in the decades to come.
